Lovely friendly staff and large bedroom s but water not always hot. The pool etc we're lovely way to relax and there was a great breakfast up to eleven o' clock which is great. It is a good location as just five minutes walk you are in the centre.
We both had a great time staying in your beautiful Maldron hotel in Cork. The moment we entered your doors we were greeted by your friendly and humorist staff that brought our enjoyable stay to a new experience. Our room was beautiful, spacious and fresh. In your dining area you had an excellent variety of food on offer, cooked perfectly to satisfy the taste buds and at a price everyone could afford. We send complements to your fine chef. We rate your hotel as a 4 star, because we did not get a chance to experience your pool area due to other commitments. We had a great time, we got great value for our money and we hope to see you all in the future.

Two of us stayed overnight at Maldron Cork and found everything from the courteous and informative check-in to check-out, with a sojourn in Bells Bar in between, to be nothing but professional and welcoming. The location is excellent. Once parking is secured in either front or rear parking options, if Cork city centre or the old Shandon quarter is one's objective, the car can stay parked. We loved our view on old Shandon, and the elevated position can only offer panoramic views of the city from rooms on the other side.
The food was excellent. Our visit was enough to leave us convinced that a two night stay would be doubly relaxing, allowing time to avail of the leisure centre facilities, next time around!
Had a great stay.the staff were very helpful and friendly.the food was fantastic.room clean and lovely and warm on the cold night
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff lovely.food excellent.room warm and clean.looking forward to our next stay
Great time lovely room and friendly staff! Would definitely stay there again great location also!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Plumbing needs attention - shower basin in first room filled and overflowed in 2 minutes. Staff dealt with this excellently and moved us to another room without an issue. Rooms neef to be updated - shower curtains replaced (shower doors would be a big improvement) broken / faded tiles in places (not a safety problem but from an aesthetic point of view, could use some work), lining of curtains worn off (room 501) Leisure centre - no locks available, bench broken in sauna, no warning signs posted, just a wooden crate left on top. Outside of hotel could do with updating - much nicer inside but first impressions are not good - we were almost going to turn back :) We're glad we didn't because we had a pleasant stay.
Central location friendly efficient staff great breakfast buffet .Reasonable rates .The Maldron previously known as the north infirmary hospital is the smart choice when visiting Cork .
Positives: great location, very easy to walk across the river to the city. Lovely view of the Shandon Bells from our room. The leisure club was small and a kids' swimming class was taking place the morning we used it, so it was pretty hectic, but expected.
Negatives: woken up early both mornings of our stay by kids (and adults) shouting loudly and running up and down the corridors. The bar was oddly brightly lit and not very atmospheric so we didn't stay for more than one drink. When leaving on Sunday morning, we thought we might get a quick sandwich from the bar (rather than going into the restaurant), but found that it didn't open til 12.30pm??? I'm guessing that this has something to do with licencing laws, but surely it would have been possible to serve food and soft drinks/tea/coffee for people who were checking out...?
Overall, I'd probably stay again. Thanks.
Reasonable priced, clean, warm the room was a bit pokey but good overall
Brilliant Location Easy to Find. Nice Clean Hotel. Food superb. We enjoyed our stay.
Excellent hotel, very pleasant staff
Excellent location. The place is a little tired particularly the public areas, but the room itself was huge and comfortable. The breakfast was fine, there was plenty of choice. Overall for the price it was pretty good.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Maldron Hotel in Cork last week.
The room was comfortable with no noise having asked for a quiet room, however the on suite could do with a revamp. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and we would recommend it to our friends.
It was excellent value for a 3 day break and we hope to return to it again in 2014.
staff were very accommodating and rooms were spacious. meal was great value. really enjoyed my stay.
cork seems to be very far away from sligo, till the Maldron Hotel cork made it feel like home or even further with a great line of staff who knew about the town and where to go etc......keep up the good work.
Room needed updating-carpet had burn marks, furniture was decreped. We had to ask more than twice to have room cleaned and for clean towels, clean cups and even toilet rolls. We did enjoy the pool and your location is very central.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Maldron, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and the rooms were lovely.
Very close to the city centre. Friendly staff.
Hotel was conveniently located, close to city center. We stayed in a twin room, which had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendy and helpful
I had a nice, short but sweet stay in the Maldron Hotel for 1 night. The Hotel rang to confirm my booking as It was going to be a busy as the Cork Jazz festival was happening in the City the same weekend, good atmostphere despite the weather.
The hotel car park was full so we found car Parking on the Street just outside the Hotel.
We had lovely view of Cork City from Our Hotel windows at night. Perfect location in the City Centre. Had a 3 course dinner on arrival before walking the only 4mins to the Cork Opera House and a hot breakfast the next morning. The Reception, Dinner and Breakfast Stafff were very polite and helpfull, especially arranging more Scambled egg for me and coming to find me to tell me it had arrived. I would recommend this Hotel and would like to have stayed longer.
Friendly staff, good bar food. However, I feel the furniture in room was outdated, window in room did not close fully and carpet in corridor and stairs was dirty.
I would like to express our dissatisfaction after saying at your hotel this weekend - Saturday 19th Oct.
I had booked a night in your hotel for myself, my mum and my sister who is almost due a baby.
We had the early bird dinner which I can say the food was delicious but once the group of 80 people arrived into the restaurant we felt very rushed. Each course was served right after the other wihtout any break in between and we were given the bill before we had even finished the dessert without even asking for the bill. We felt like the staff wanted us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible so they could focus on the large group that had just arrived. As far as I can see we were paying the same amount as everyone else for our meal and should have been able to enjoy it properly.
The rooms were very well decorated and fully equipped but we didnt get a wink of sleep all night long. We were staying in Room 407. Alot of people from this same large group kept us awake all night. At 4am they were singing songs outside our room and down the hallway. There was constant banging of hotel room doors and loud talking in the hallways. Kids running up and down the halls and in the lift at all hours of the night. Due to the lack of sleep we didnt get to use the swimming pool facility before checking out as we had to try get some sleep after breakfast before the drive home.
I think all the above is unacceptable for a hotel of your standard. We had read some bad reviews before booking about the loud noise late at night but chose to overlook this and give the benefit of the doubt.
I will not be recommending your hotel to friends or family, and what was suppose to be a relaxing weekend away before my sister has her baby left us shattered tired coming home because of the lack of sleep we all got
Staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, great location close to everything
Thirteen famiy members stayed for two nights. Age range 26 -80. We had a fantastic time. The food was excellent. We were very pleasantly surprised that the meal was so good. Normally when you book two nights b/b plus a meal, the meal is usually o.k. On this occasion we all agreed it was excellent. Plenty of choices. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcomed. Thanks from us all for a great weekend.
I was very happy with everything except parking facilities!!
Great location, very friendly staff and the room was fantastic.
Myself and my husband along with our 1 year old daughter stayed for 2 nights. I have to compliment the staff as no request was too much, especially in relation to our daughter. Anything we needed was quickly provided. The staff in both the restaurant and bar were extremely helpful and because of this and the excellent location of the hotel, we will stay again in the future.
Had a lovely time staying at the Maldron, very close to the shopping centre of Cork city, with great walks along the river Lee, The Hotel was A1, with friendly staff and good food, what more could one ask for,
Had 3 night stay as part of our Golden wedding celebrations. We found the staff to be very pleasant and welcoming. They were very helpful, checking train and bus times and giving us local information. Our room was on 5th floor and had 2 windows so was bright and airy and we had good views over the city. Although fairly basic it was a reasonable size. Evening menus gave good choice, although quality and presentation of meals depended on which chef was on duty! Breakfast was completely self-service with an adequate, though fairly limited, choice. We would use this hotel again as it was in a quiet location and we thought our 'Golden Years' package excellent value for money.
Great location, staff friendly and helpful, very pleasant stay.
Lovely quite hotel, clean and tidy. Friendly staff.
Very nice hotel and staff are very friendly and easy going. we decided to head to cork early saturday morning and im so glad we did it was our last stop to compleat the for conores of ireland and by far cork was the best of the lot. we where able to book a room on short notice at 9am saturday morning for two. the hotel itself is not to far from the night life cork city has to offer but if your not into a wild crazy night out well the maldron is the place to be the residants bar is quality very relaxing the big plus was the pool table witch i always look for when we go out.the bar also had nice people from all over ireland where there that night and it was just a great atmosphere. The staff was very nice anytime we wanted anything it was brought over to our table always with a smile. ill give it 9 out of 10 only because i didnt have breakfast it would be 10 out of 10. we will be back sometime this year for sure.
I stayed for one night. This was my second time staying in this hotel. As like the first time I stayed the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The room was nice and clean and also quite big. There was a lot of noise from the street below very early in the morning (approx. 6.30) due to a bin lorry however this can't be helped!
Breakfast was lovely and the staff who greeted you were very friendly. Overall I had a good experience at this hotel on two occasions.
We enjoyed our stay in Maldron very much, food excellent, service could be better in bar. Restaurant very good. Lovely bedroom.
My only complaint is the elevator is very small. When other guests need one at same time it can be very crammed. There only appears to be one.
I would recommend this hotel and will return, 3 star.
I was really impressed with the Maldron Cork - quick check in on arrival and our room was a clean and spacious family room. The bathroom was clean and nicely designed.
the dinner in stir restaurant was delicious and my 4 year old son ate everything and tasted everything which can only be a good thing
the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly . the breakfast was plentiful and very tasty - another hit with my son.
the pool was great for kids but I taught the main pool was a bit small.
the hotel was in a great location - just a bit around the corner from all the main shopping area and cork opera theatre.
I would definitely stay here again - as a couple's city break or a break with my family.
i stayed here with my partner and two children in August 2013 and we found it to be a lovely friendly hotel./
The room was nice and big enough for the four of us./
the kids loved the pool and we loved the sauna. the only issue i would have is while we were there there was "entertainment" for the children. on one night there was splashmania which consisted of 5 small toys to be shared between about ten children. i thought there would of been something more or at least some entertainment for the kids in the bar. there is a games room which consists of four electronic games which are 2 euro a pop. my kids had more fun on the massage chair. the games were at least 15 years old. apart from this the hotel is lovely and we enjoyed ourselves.
food was excellent in restaurant. breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly and warm, especially in the gym where the staff were very helpful. gym facilities and pool were great and there seemed to be great attention to detail in the hotel as a whole. there were only little cons, such as the terrible internet computers in the reception and no batteries in the remote control. but the fact that i would have to think about the cons is a sign that overall the experience in the hotel was great.
Great location, great staff, great price...is now my default hotel for stays in cork.
Bedroom with double and single bed suited our 3 day family break.
Clean room, great breakfast and great pints. Free colouring in pack for my child on arival
set us up for a great stay.
Had a wonderful stay, staff very friendly but found the rooms very run down which was a bit disappointing and also car parking spaces were very limited. (Cork Maldron)
enjoyed my stay there but only because I was with my family, the room was very outdated only one socket in room smelled like a toilet, the whole hotel needs a good clean and paint the restaurant there was very nice though would not go back until it was renovated
We have stayed in quite a few hotels In Cork before we found the Maldron hotel.
Sence we starting staying there around there about 3 years ago we would stay no where else.
The staff are so friendly & helpful, the food is great & of course the drink is great as well.
It is great & so near to the city centre so the wife can do plenty of shopping.
Thank you Maldron.
Stayed for the weekend recently. Very enjoyable. The hotel is perfectly located for city centre shopping and exploring a handy five to ten minute stroll from Patrick St. The staff were excellent, helpful and efficient and the leisure centre was a welcome sight after a day of walking around. Rooms are functional and well kept.
Had a very enjoyable stay at your hotel, rooms were clean however the halls were extremely warm and heat you as soon as you walk out of the room. Service was excellent and would definitely recommend your hotel to friends.
The hotel was badly signposted coming down Shandon hill.
corridors very smelly. decor very dated throughout. stayed at maldron parnell st dublin before and they are poles apart. gym was ok. Gym staff very friendly.
Very centrally located lovely hotel, overall. Staff were accommodating. The bar had little atmosphere, but our triple room was spacious, comfortable & very quiet. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there were plenty of appropriate places within 10 minutes walk. If we were visiting Cork city again, we would definitely stay at the Maldron again.
Charlie's Angels, Kilkenny & London
Perfect hotel for staying whilst in Cork. 2 mintures walk to the centre of everything. I will return to the hotel next time I return to Cork.
Nice little hotel centrally located at a good price. Pools were great fun for the kids! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was gorgeous! We had a lovely little family break and would def stay again! Thanks to all staff!
We had a wonderful stay in cork at the maldron, the pool area was lovely ideal for children of just couples as the shops and bar are all within short walking distance. the hotel was clean comfortable and friendly staff real value for money. the food was lovely in the hotel I would recommend this hotel to any one and I will use it myself in the future.
Excellent stay . Food was lovely.
