Mardyke Entertainment Centre

The Mardyke Entertainment Centre, located on Sheare Street, has everything you could possibly need to entertain both adults and children. Under one roof you can bowl, play pool, have something to eat or drink or watch big sports events on their big screens.  In its family friendly atmosphere, all tastes are catered for.  If you want to have some fun with Karaoke, check out their Karaoke pods with over 5,000 songs to choose from.  You can even run your own Karaoke competition if you wish!

For the smaller members of your family why not have a kids bowling day or a ping pong party? They can offer a variety of finger food or menus for groups also, so contact them for details.  The Mardyke is perfect for any day but especially when the weather isn’t as kind and you want to pass a few fun hours in a top location.

Cork City Marathon

The Cork City Marathon is fast becoming an institution for the city since it’s revival in 2007. The race itself does not only cater to marathon enthusiasts it also allows runners to run for charity. Numerous causes have benefitted from the donations stemming from the marathon. These causes include local ones such Cork ARC Cancer Support, Cork Association for Autism and Cork Mental Health Foundation to more international causes such as Chernobyl Children International and Concern Worldwide.

The people of Cork will line the streets of the 42.195km (26 miles and 385 yards) marathon course on June 3rd to catch a glimpse of the runners. Whether you are entering the race or you just want to enjoy the fun (and hopefully sunshine) on the day it is guaranteed to be an enjoyable and rewarding day for all involved.

On Monday June 6th this year’s marathon will take place. Visit Cork City Marathon to find out more whether you just want to watch the race or maybe even take part!
